What we know about Tyler Robinson

Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was arrested Thursday night after a 33-hour manhunt. Once a standout student from Washington, Utah, Robinson briefly attended Utah State University on scholarship before dropping out. Though registered to vote with no party affiliation and inactive in recent elections, investigators say he had grown increasingly political in recent years and expressed hostility toward Kirk.

Authorities recovered a bolt-action rifle near the scene with ammunition engraved with anti-fascist slogans, including “Hey fascist! Catch!” and lyrics from an Italian anti-fascist song. Other casings carried trolling-style messages. A family member told investigators Robinson had criticized Kirk at a recent family dinner and mentioned his upcoming Utah Valley University event, where the shooting occurred. Robinson’s arrest came after a family friend alerted police that he had confessed or implied involvement. (Source)
